Production process of PET plastic material


The rheological properties of PET in molten state are better, and the effect of pressure on viscosity is larger than that of temperature. Therefore, the flow of melt is mainly changed from pressure. The production process of PET plastic material is as follows:

1, the treatment of plastic

Because the PET macromolecule contains fat base, it has a certain hydrophilic property, and the granular material is sensitive to water at high temperature. When the water content exceeds the limit, the PET molecular weight decreases in the processing, and the products are colored and brittle. So drying must be done: it is recommended that the drying conditions in the air should be 120 6~8, 150 hours, or 2~4 hours. The humidity must be less than 0.03%. The air - ejection method is used to test whether the material is completely dry.

The proportion of recycled materials should not exceed 25%, and the recycled materials must be thoroughly dried.


2. Selection of injection molding machine

Because the time of PET is short and the melting point is high after the melting point, it is necessary to choose the injection system with more temperature control section and less self friction heat in plasticizing. The production of the finished product needs to add a proper amount of PET toughening agent, and the actual weight of the product (water cut mouth) can not be less than 2/3 of the machine injection.



3. Design of mold and gate

PET bottle embryo is usually formed by hot runner mold. The best heat insulation plate between the mold and the injection molding machine is best, and the thickness is about 12mm, and the heat insulation board can bear high pressure. The exhaust must be sufficient to avoid partial overheating or fragmentation, but the depth of the exhaust port should not exceed 0.03mm.


4. Melting temperature

It can be measured by air ejection method. At 270-295 degrees, the enhanced GF-PET can be set to 290-315 degrees centigrade.


5. Injection speed

Generally, the injection speed is fast, which can prevent premature solidification. But too fast, the high shear rate makes the material fragile. The ejection is usually completed in 4 seconds.


6, back pressure

The lower the better, so as not to wear. Generally not more than 100bar. It is usually not used.


7. Detained time

Do not use too long detention time to prevent molecular weight loss. Try to avoid the temperature above 300 degrees centigrade. If the shutdown is less than 15 minutes. If it is more than 15 minutes, use the viscosity PE to clean and reduce the barrel temperature to PE until the machine is switched on again.


8. Precautions

(1) the recycled material should not be too large, otherwise it will easily produce "bridging" at the blanking place and affect the plasticization.

2. If the mold temperature control is not good or the material temperature control is not proper, it is easy to produce "white fog" and opaque. The mold temperature is low and uniform, the cooling speed is fast, the crystal is few, and the products are transparent.
